Unit 1 – All About Me

  • Culture Corner: Families share “Hello” (or greeting) in their home language
     

Unit 2 – Stories & Sequence
  • Literacy: Story elements (beginning, middle, end); sequencing practice

  • Numeracy: Patterns (AB, AAB); sorting by attribute

  • Science & SEL: Life cycle of a seed—plant beans and observe growth

  • Culture Corner: Read or illustrate a folktale from another country
     

Unit 3 – Numbers in Nature

  • Literacy: Labeling diagrams; key vocabulary (“count,” “more,” “less”)

  • Numeracy: Number pairs to 10; simple addition with objects

  • Science & SEL: Leaf-rubbings; classify by color/shape; measure leaf lengths

  • Culture Corner: Nature word list in two languages
     

Unit 4 – Shapes & Structures
  • Literacy: Shape vocabulary in sentences (“I see a ___.”)

  • Numeracy: 2D & 3D shapes; combining shapes to create pictures

  • Science & SEL: Build a small bridge model and test its stability

  • Culture Corner: Explore traditional bridge designs around the world
     

Unit 5 – Rhymes & Rhythm
  • Literacy: Nursery rhymes; syllable claps; rhyming word hunts

  • Numeracy: Use tally marks to track rhyme discoveries

  • Science & SEL: Sound-wave experiments with rubber bands; discuss “loud” vs. “soft”

  • Culture Corner: Learn and perform a simple children’s song from another culture
     

Unit 6 – Measurement & Comparison

  • Literacy: Descriptive writing (“longer,” “taller,” “heavier”)

  • Numeracy: Measure with non-standard tools (blocks, paper clips)

  • Science & SEL: Compare plant pot heights; graph the results

  • Culture Corner: Families measure and share the sizes of common home objects
     

Unit 7 – Habitats & Homes

  • Literacy: Read short informational texts; practice Q&A comprehension

  • Numeracy: Graph favorite animals; estimate simple counts

  • Science & SEL: Create shoebox habitats; discuss living-thing needs

  • Culture Corner: Virtual “tour” descriptions of homes in different countries
     

Unit 8 – Time & Daily Routines

  • Literacy: Sequence daily-routine sentences (“First I…, Then I…”)

  • Numeracy: Tell time to the hour; sequence events on a timeline

  • Science & SEL: Design a personal daily schedule; role-play “What time is it?”

  • Culture Corner: Compare school-day or meal routines around the globe
     

Unit 9 – Weather & Seasons

  • Literacy: Weather-word vocabulary; keep a simple weather journal

  • Numeracy: Collect and graph daily weather observations

  • Science & SEL: Simple thermometer experiments; create a seasonal collage

  • Culture Corner: Learn about seasonal festivals (e.g., Diwali, Carnival)
     

Unit 10 – Money & Exchange

  • Literacy: Write shopping lists; label coin names

  • Numeracy: Identify coins; make sums up to 10 ¢ with play money

  • Science & SEL: “Classroom store” role-play with play money

  • Culture Corner: Explore currencies and typical prices in another country
     

Unit 11 – Community Helpers
  • Literacy: Develop interview questions; write thank-you notes

  • Numeracy: Read simple maps; plot grid coordinates (A–D/1–5)

  • Science & SEL: Create paper-plate puppets of community helpers; discuss their roles

  • Culture Corner: Share a story about a community helper from abroad
     

Unit 12 – Reflections & Portfolios
  • Literacy: Compile favorite writings and drawings into a “My Year” booklet

  • Numeracy: Play review games; self-assessment checklists

  • Science & SEL: Present a “What I’ve Learned” gallery; reflect on growth

  • Culture Corner: Family-share day—each family presents a cultural artifact
     

How to Use:

  • Materials: Each unit includes a PDF Activity Guide with step-by-step instructions.

  • Delivery: Self-paced online modules; weekly guides; upload Culture Corner projects to your portal.
